Public Hearing Notice

The Committee on Law and Government of the Council of the City of Philadelphia will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, April 24, 2017, at 10:00 AM, in Room 400, City Hall, to hear testimony on the following items:
160010 ... An Ordinance amending Chapter 2-200 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Recording of Deeds," to provide for further action by the Department of Records in cases where the Department reasonably suspects that a deed has been mistakenly recorded and that a fraudulent transfer of the real property described therein has occurred.
160674 ... An Ordinance providing for the submission to the qualified electors of the City of Philadelphia of an amendment to The Philadelphia Home Rule Charter establishing and defining the responsibilities of the Department of Labor, Employment and Consumer Affairs; fixing the date of a special election for such purpose; prescribing the form of ballot questions to be voted on; and authorizing the appropriate officers to publish notice and to make arrangements for the special election.
170204 ... An Ordinance amending Chapter 10-200 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Ethnic Intimidation and Institutional Vandalism," to clarify and revise its scope and related penalties, all under certain terms and conditions.
170243 ... An Ordinance amending Chapter 1-100 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Definitions, Construction, Penalties and Enforcement," to authorize the Law Department to standardize the appearance, numbering and formatting of The Philadelphia Code without the need for further Code amendment, all under certain terms and conditions.
160691 ... Resolution proposing an amendment to The Philadelphia Home Rule Charter to provide for the creation of a Department of Labor, Employment and Consumer Affairs, to provide for the powers and duties of such Department, and to otherwise provide for incorporation of the Department into the City government; and providing for the submission of the amendment to the electors of Philadelphia.
Immediately following the public hearing, a meeting of the Committee on Law and Government, open to the public, will be held to consider the action to be taken on the above listed items.
